We have spent the past 2 decades building global systems that offer highly-scalable, enterprise solutions to address complex business challenges within numerous Fortune 100 companies.  In many cases, these solutions required dozens of business and technology resources and expensive software and hardware platforms to define requirements, design, build, test, and implement a solution that took from a few weeks to many months or even years of effort.

One day, the CFO of one of these companies made an observation and asked a simple question… He said, “You have clearly demonstrated an ability to build some amazing custom solutions that give us greater ability to process massive volumes of data with far more functionality.  These solutions provide us with the ability to keep up with the business demands, but require incredible amounts of time from the people in my department to use all the capabilities now being offered.  That’s great, BUT… why can’t you develop a solution that actually improves the Quality of Life for my people?

We took that question to heart.  We looked at all the pain points that departments have in their day-to-day activities.  We came to the realization that everyone struggles most with working with data.  It requires specialized analysts to work with Technology departments to produce answers to complicated inquiries.  Sure, there are many great Business Intelligence “BI” and visualization tools out there, but those tools assume the data is readily available, of high quality, and that there are technologist available to build them.  We realized quickly that most solutions require a painful process of finding and extracting data to spreadsheets (typically via SQL), cleaning up the data manually, completing all sorts of analyses within the spreadsheets, and building multiple complex versions of the truth that needs to be compared and reconciled.  And it seems the data is always stale and it is pain-staking to repeat this process to get the latest data every hour, day, week, or even month.

Reconset was created to provide a better solution that addresses most of these pain points, reducing the reliance on specialized experts (both data analysts and technologists), and puts the power to answer data related questions in anyone’s hands within the organization.  We believe that enabling everyone to analyze and improve data allows departments and companies to say they are truly data-driven organizations.
