Compare Data

Simple Set up
1. Select two datasets to be compared

2. Click which data fields should be matched

3. Click which fields should be compared and any tolerances/threshholds

Data can be matched regardless of field names, sequence, or row sort order
Dashboard

Summarizes overall comparison in terms of:

  1. Completeness: Measures the percentage of rows that were able to be matched

2. Accuracy: Measures the percentage of cells that compared equally between the two datasets

3. Precision: Measures the percentage of confidence in the execution of the match rules

Detailed Comparison

Shows a detailed row-by-row comparison of all fields between the two datasets

1. Matched rows: rows where all values are equivalent between datasets

2. UnMatched rows: fields are highlighted where values are not equivalent

3. Orphan rows: rows where there is no matching record in the other dataset

Aggregate detailed records to view a total of:

1. rows compared, matches, breaks

Potential Use Cases:

  • Compare data that is expected to match between two departments or systems to ensure the data matches, or find any discrepancies easily

  • Conduct a comparison between two time periods to determine the areas with the greatest / least movement.  Enables you to quickly identify performers and laggards across the business.
  • Perform a Data Regression test between your Production and Test systems, or any two systems in your SDLC lifecycle or Agile methodology.
